Galena HR was established in October 2003 to support businesses that do not have the resource of a human resource manager, and do not need a fully time employee to do this, but require the experience and knowledge of a professional to support their business.

With over 10 years of experience in many diverse areas, from small companies to multi-national groups within a variety of industries including medical, engineering, manufacturing, distribution and automotive sector we have a wealth of knowledge and variety of experience to draw upon.

Vision

GALENA HR will be the provider of choice for SME organisations when considering all aspects of Human Resource Services and personnel management.

  • To develop and promote good HR practices within SME organisations (small to medium sized enterprises) to ensure legal and good practice standards are met

Objectives

The company will:
  • Provide HR support and advice which will include the design of required policies, procedures and literature to small and medium sized enterprises (SME's) to minimize the risk to legal action and improve employee relations to ensure the business progresses
  • Provide a training/coaching facility to companies on the delivery of HR policies and procedures to employees
  • Provide an outsourcing service to those companies who are having to release employees and wish to give them support in finding alternative employment
  • Provide advice and support with regard to Health and Safety and Quality procedure requirements

Both of the directors have worked in a variety of roles during their working career, and have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience which they bring to their respective roles. Angie has ongoing Continual Professional Development in the field of Human Resources.

Angie Witcombe

Angie progressed into the field of Human Resources from an Office Management background. She has had the responsibility for Quality and HR Management within a medical manufacturing company and then became a generalist HR Manager with the additional responsibility for aspects of Quality and Health & Safety within a global automotive manufacturing company. As a Licentiate member of CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development) she has had the opportunity of experiencing all aspects of strategic planning and people management as well as the day to day implementation of policies and procedures required to meet legislation and people management good practice. Angie is currently a LEA School Governor and member of the Area Council of the Chamber of Commerce.

Tom Sykes

Tom has experience in the IT industry where he has gained valuable insight in Sales & Marketing in addition to his IT expertise.
